Meet the band members

Michael A. Gregory:

Instruments: Lead vocals, harmony, lead & rhythm guitar and blues harp.
Birthplace: New York, NY

Musical background: Over 40 years playing experience in nightclubs, fairs, festivals, casuals, concerts, TV and recording studios. Michael has performed with such bands as "The Stony Brook People", "Full House", "The Box Tops" and back up band for "The Drifters". 

 He is the bandleader, business manager, writes all of the original material, produces cds and is the musical director for Mad Dash, CoolHeat and Inner outlook. He also does solo and duo acoustic acts for coffee houses, small clubs and churches. He also runs the Grass Valley Chapter of Songsalive, at www.songsalive.org , a non-profit songwriter's association which promotes songwriters world-wide.

Michael has been producing various shows for local cable television for over five years. His latest production is a show which features local restaurants called "The Dr. Delish Show" which stars his friend and business partner Andy Gonzales. Got to www.drdelish.com for more information.

 

Bob Chapman: (The Chief)
Instruments:
Tenor, alto, baritone sax and vocals.

Birthplace: Detroit, Michigan

Musical background: Bob has played in big bands and small groups all over California.  His influences are Paul Desmond, Grover Washington Jr., Stanley Turrentine, Dexter Gordon and Gerry Mulligan. He now performs with "Mad Dash" and "CoolHeat".

Bob lights up the room when he starts playing. He is extremely versatile and creative. Look out ladies 'cause he's "the man"!

Aimee Wild
Instruments:
Lead vocals, harmony and percussion

Birthplace: Roseville, CA

Aimee started her career early in life with an interest is jazz, musicals, dancing and acting in high school. Her high school jazz vocal group traveled all over California, performing and competing. They were voted #1 in the state! She has appeared in numerous musical theater shows for over 10 years. Aimee studied vocal jazz with the world renowned  singer Bobby McFerrin. She has won many awards including Best Jazz Performance by Downbeat Magazine.

She now brings her dynamic energy and personality to Mad Dash and CoolHeat. Her musical influences are Eryka Badu, Marvin Gaye, Jill Scott, Donna Summer, Pat Benetar and Stevie Nicks.

Bass, Guitar, flute, keyboards and vocals

Birthplace: New York, NY

David Meyer has been making music since the age of five. He began playing in bands at the age of 15, and achieved regional success in the early 1970’s with Janus, a folk-rock band in the style of Crosby, Stills and Nash, America, Buffalo Springfield and The Eagles. His music has been influenced by singer-songwriters such as Dan Fogelberg, Paul Simon, Paul McCartney, John Lennon, James Taylor and Harry Chapin who was a personal friend and neighbor of David’s on Long Island, NY.

David is a proficient MIDI programmer and producer of sampled music. He has written over 200 compositions throughout his 35 years of writing. He just completed work on a new album entitled “I’m Just Sayin’”, a collection of vocal and instrumental compositions.

 David lives in Northern California, where he has been active in a number of local bands, including Mother’s Kitchen, Northern Lights, Dusk, Acoustic Fuse, The Amy Anne Band, Rockinbocker and The Alanis Crow Project. David is also a partner in Longshot Productions, a company dedicated to the production and promotion of Northern California music and musicians. He is now a member of Mad Dash.

Chris Fox

Drums

Birthplace: Youngstown, Ohio

Started playing drums at the age of 15. He has had the opportunity to play many styles of music including: Rock, Blues, Jazz, Country, Funk, Gospel, Celtic, Klezmar, Rock-a-billy, Progressive, Jazz Fusion, Reggae and Ska. His drumming influences encompass Bill Burford, Vinnie Colaiuta, Chad Wackerman, Buddy Rich, Stewart Copeland, Thomas Lang, Stephen Gadd and many others.

Chris loves all music because of its ability to transcend boundaries. He has been blessed to play a myriad of venues like Burning Man (Black Rock City, NV.), NOW rally (40K attendees SF, CA.), Hookers Ball, The May Day Festival (3 years Fairfax, CA.), Celtic Festival (3 years Grass Valley, CA.) Panthiacon (SF, CA.) and many other engagements including street fairs, weddings, clubs and the like.

Chris loves to perform, record, arrange and write music. He also plays some Guitar, Bass, Percussion and Keys.

 

Dayna Jones

Instruments: Vocals, keyboards, guitar and percussion

Dayna is a world class vocalist who has won several professional singing contests. She has appeared in many local bands including her latest - the Alanis-Crow Project and now Inner Outlook. She was the lead singer for CoolHeat for many years and is one of the singers for Mad Dash.

Her influences are Sheryl Crow, Alanis Morrisette, Linda Rondstadt, Norah Jones and Aretha Franklin.

 

Andy Gonzales

Instruments: Percussion and backing vocals

Birthplace:

Andy is the percussionist for the newly reformed "Inner Outlook" trio and our other trio "Blue Moon". He has also performed with Mad Dash and many other Nevada County bands.

Andy is the founder of the "Grassies", an annual music award presentation for local musicians and artists. He also publishes his own music and restaurant publication "Tempo/Delish" which can be seen at www.tempoonline.com.

 

Anne Frederickson

Vocals, Piano and Guitar

Anne is currently the pianist and lead vocalist for Blue Moon. 

Anne has been involved in music since the age of 10. She has a Bachelor's and Master's Degree in musical performance. She has enjoyed playing many styles of music including classical, jazz and contemporary popular songs. She currently teaches piano and voice in Grass Valley, CA.

Her influences include such greats as Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughn, Stevie Wonder, Norah Jones and Natalie Cole.

Faith Hegemann

Instruments: Flute

Faith is the flute player for Blue Moon.

Faith has been playing flute since she was 10 years old. She loves music of all kinds and enjoyed being the musical director at a jazz radio station in Southern California. She has performed in many live bands and also on the radio. She has lead her own group and worked with several others. 

Faith loves to play flute from an inspired heart, whether it's pop, jazz, classical or spiritual music.
